Historical Significance: Pankration was considered one of the most prestigious and demanding sports in ancient Greece, requiring athletes to be well-rounded and highly skilled. Legacy: Although ancient pankration declined with the fall of the Greek civilization, its influence can be seen in modern combat sports such as mixed martial arts (MMA).
